Background

Six years ago, my husband and I chose to make Bedford our home.  Both lifelong residents of NH, we were residing in Manchester when our son began 1st grade.  As a Bedford teacher for over a decade, I always knew that we wanted our kids to attend school in this district. In the winter of 2016, we found our home.

My children now attend Riddle Brook Elementary and Lurgio Middle School. The education that they've received in Bedford has been filled with high-quality instruction from caring teachers, staff, and administrators. Those educators have shown us again and again why we moved to Bedford. As a teacher in the district for 16 years, I knew the staff was amazing.  However, once my children were on the receiving end of this care, I truly understood the dedication of the teachers, staff, and administrators to the success of all of Bedford's children.

Since I’ve changed careers, I've had the opportunity to volunteer in my children's classrooms, go on field trips, donate materials, and support the PTG.  I currently volunteer on the Board of Directors for SEE Science Center in Manchester, where I’ve gained an invaluable understanding of  how Boards work while also supporting the important informal science education that SEE provides. I was also recently honored to become a member of "Leadership Greater Manchester" Class of 2020.

My 16 years of experience in public education, along with my current career in higher education,  equips me with what I believe our school board needs right now: an experienced teacher with empathy, enthusiasm, and expertise in education—a  member who not only cares deeply for the students of Bedford, but who has the background to ask pointed questions and come up with relevant, workable solutions for our community.  Our school board has the opportunity to support our teachers, staff, and administrators during a tumultuous time in public education. Our schools in Bedford are the heartbeat of our town. It's time to treat our students and educators with the respect they deserve.  As a school board member, I will work every day to make that happen.
